About the Project:
We are excited to announce the 11th annual Nicholas Holiday Giving Tree Project! This year, we’ll be sending out 65 holiday care packages to families with children affected by Batten Disease, and we need your help to make it happen.
If you’d like to participate, you can support this effort by donating items from our wish lists or making a monetary contribution. The children receiving these care packages have a fatal neurodegenerative brain disease, and some families have more than one child battling this condition. Each package will be sent in a small priority mail shoebox, allowing us to fit many thoughtful and essential items for daily care, hospital visits, or simply to bring a little joy during the holiday season.
These care packages include small, practical items such as over-the-counter medications, toiletries, and gift cards, allowing families to purchase necessities or even enjoy a cup of coffee, new pajamas or bed sheets, holiday candy, holiday ornaments and gift cards.
- Package Mailing: The packages will be sent during the week of December 2, 2024, just in time for the holidays.
- Donation Deadline: If you’d like to contribute, please make your donation by November 27, 2024. Any additional donations received after this date will still go to families with children battling Batten Disease.
You can sponsor a holiday care package (or two) with a $50 donation. We will fill the box for a child with items like bed sheets, pajamas, travel-sized essentials, children’s Tylenol, holiday candy, a special ornament, a card, and a gift card.
